The 1.1 mile loop was carved into existence by our race inspiration, Nate Solomon. His morning walk/runs have taken place on this trail every morning, along with a pit stop at the top to talk to God at sunrise.
Nate always shares his daily nugget he get's from his conversations with God on top of the trail on his IG story, and his friends and family look forward to them everyday.
He ends his message with,
'Get Up & Get After It!'.
During a conversation with his brother in law's, they talked about the MidState Mile in Tennessee, hosted by the Jones family. A last man standing race, done on a 1.1 mile loop.
Ironically enough, the loop Nate takes every morning is 1.1 mile long.
Nate decided to turn his morning routine into something more, share it with others, and throw some competition in there too..
The Inkom Last Man Standing 1.1. was born.
The mile loop has an elevation gain of 240 ft. every loop. There are rolling hills, challenging climbs and descents. And views that will will take your breath away if the trail doesn't!
Sounds easy, right?
It's. Just. One. Mile.
How the race works:
Runners have 20 minutes to complete each 1.1 mile loop.
The clock restarts every 20 minutes:
8:00, 8:20, 8:40, and on and on and on...
until one man (or woman) is left standing.
If you do not make it back to the corral within the 20 minutes, you are out.
No exceptions.
The clock / loops continue until there is only one runner left... The Last Man Standing.
